TITLE: Electric Technician A
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Electrical Technician is responsible for electrical, electronics, and maintenance of all equipment. Performs other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Industrial maintenance degree or similar from a state certified technical school or community college is required. Completion of a 4-year electrical apprenticeship can be substituted
- Must have knowledge of basic industrial electrical components – relays, timers, contactors, proximity switches, etc.
- Must be able to read multimeters and amp meters.
- A background in industrial electronics and troubleshooting is required
- Experience with PLC controls and variable speed drives is preferred
- Basic computer knowledge
- Must have good communication skills
- Experience with PLC controls and variable speed drives is preferred
- Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends and evenings as needed. Also must be able to work on-call as needed
- Must be able to read electrical schematics
- The ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings is a plus
- Can work with limited supervision (ie. night shift)
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- All skills, knowledge and job duties of Electrical Technician B.
- Troubleshoot and repair A/C, D/C motors, drives and inverters.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair fire panels and alarm systems.
- Correctly identify and work on any electrical cabinet in the plant.
- Identify and safely work on any switchgear in the plant.
- Replace non-programmable devices such as relays, contactors, timers, PLC i/o cards.
- Use soldering for repairs as needed
- Check and change motor rotation if needed.
- Replace plant lighting and ballasts.
- Check and replace fuses.
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits.
- Assists Maintenance technician in the lubrication and repair of mechanical equipment
- Maintain all equipment in good running order
- Ensure that job site is clean and free of hazards
- Maintains good housekeeping and safety practices when running equipment
- Interacts and communicates with Production supervisor during shift and assist on production line when needed
- Maintains professional certifications and keeps updated on all procedures and policy changes; keeps training up to date
- Operates all maintenance equipment safely, follows LOTO procedures at all times.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
- Manufacturing Environment
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
- Loud noise
